Take on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge with Craven Leisure for Manorlands!

Staff from Craven Leisure are taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge on Saturday June 9 – and they’re inviting customers and other residents to join them.

The team, which includes other council staff, Craven Leisure members and families, is raising money for the Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice with the event, which involves climbing Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough in one day – a distance of 24 miles.

The challenge costs just £15 to take part, which includes coach travel to and from the start in Ingleton, a charity t-shirt and refreshment stations during the walk.

Lloyd Hancox, Leisure Services Manager at Craven District Council, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to take part in one of the most stunning challenges around. If you’ve always wanted to do the Yorkshire Three Peaks, this is your chance.

“We also hope to raise as much money as possible for the brilliant work Sue Ryder do at their Manorlands Hospice. Many of us know someone who has been cared for by this charity and it’s a cause that is very close to our hearts.

“I’m proud of the Craven Leisure team for organising this event and I’m sure it will be a great day.”

Molly Ralphson, Community Fundraiser for Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice, said: "We are delighted that Craven Leisure are supporting Manorlands in their fundraising Three Peaks walking event.

“Having had some supporters complete the event recently we are really aware of what a great challenge it is and how participants feel a huge sense of achievement on completion - and rightly so!

“We hope that anyone who fancies giving it a go will take up this opportunity at such a low price and help raise those vital funds the hospice desperately needs to continue providing its specialist care."
