Free parking permits for NHS, health and social care workers, and volunteers
All NHS, health and social care workers, and volunteers connected to those services, can obtain a parking permit from the NHS, local authorities or the Royal Voluntary Society.
The permit can only be used when you are on official duty. You can apply for a permit by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
You must provide a photo of your ID Badge, showing your name and photograph. Please send the email from your official NHS/Health/Social care work email address.
If you fit the criteria then please email your evidence, along with your vehicle registration, name and postal address and a permit will be posted to you with the terms and conditions of use.
Permits can be used to park in some designated Council Pay and Display Car Parks in Skipton, Settle and Ingleton, providing a space is available.
There are some restrictions on where and when each permit may be used, more than one vehicle may be registered on the permit - please read our Terms & Conditions.
Permits can be registered to either residents or businesses. Resident permits are available as short, medium and long stay. Business permits are available as long stay only.

Using your parking permit
You must display your permit in the windscreen so it can be inspected by Civil Enforcement officers. If a permit is valid for more than one vehicle, it is the responsibility of the driver to ensure that the permit has been transferred to the vehicle that it is to be used on.
You need to ensure that your permit is valid, in date and that the vehicle registration number is correct. We reserve the right to withdraw a permit if it has expired, or has been altered, defaced or passed to unauthorised users.
Buying and renewing a parking permit
You can buy a residential or business permit online. You can also renew your permit online if your details have not changed.
Changing a permit
You can add or remove vehicles or change permit type by sending in your existing permit for cancellation with new details to Customer Services at Belle Vue Square. We charge an administration fee of £15.00 for each time a change is requested. You can pay this online.
The current permit will need to be returned to us before the new permit can be issued - this is for audit and finance purposes.
Cancelling a parking permit
You can cancel a permit by sending us a Refund Request form and return with existing permit to email@example.com or post to the Permit team at Craven District Council.
We can only refund you any full unused months' remaining after your permit has been returned, less the administration charge of £15.00.
