The On-Duty Planning Officer will provide advice on a variety of planning matters: -
- guide you on how to submit an application;
- help with any queries that you may have on current planning applications;
- provide free informal pre-application advice on the merits of certain types of development (such as applications to extend or alter houses) but not on larger development proposals.
Verbal advice on the need for planning permission will not be provided. Please see Do I need planning permission? for how these enquiries are dealt with.
Bookings can be made on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 9.30am - 12.30pm. Each booking is limited to a maximum of 20 minutes to allow a 10 minute preparation gap between appointments.
To book an appointment please telephone the Planning Support Team on 01756 706470. To ensure your enquiry fits the criteria for this service you will be asked to provide a brief summary of your enquiry along with.your name, contact details, application number and/or full postal address of the site.
Any visuals/additional information will need to be emailed to email@example.com as this will be made available for the allocated officer prior to the appointment.
Please Note: The Officer cannot deal with other matters outside of the details provided at the time of the booking.
The In-Person appointments are based at 1 Belle Vue Square, Broughton Road, Skipton, BD23 1FJ. Please attend as close to your appointment as possible, upon arrival advise the Customer Support Officer you have an appointment to see the On-Duty Planning Officer.
Appointment via Zoom, Teams and Telephone will also be given as an option.
