28/11/19 - Consultation on SHELAA methodology
The Council is consulting on an updated methodology for its Strategic Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment (SHELAA) and is inviting comments. The consultation runs until Thursday 19th December 2019 and full details are available on the consultations page.

12/11/19 - Council adopts the new local plan
On Tuesday 12th November 2019, members of Craven District Council met to consider the finalised Craven Local Plan 2012-2032 and resolved to adopt it. This means that the new local plan, which began as an early draft in 2014, is now in force and replaces the old Craven District Local Plan, which was adopted in 1999. Decisions on planning applications will be guided by the new Craven Local Plan from now on. The Council's planning policy webpages have been updated to reflect these changes and full details of the adoption, including the plan itself and related documents, are now available on the Craven Local Plan webpage.

The Council's planning policy newsletter, Planning Focus, was launched in 2009 and is now being relaunched following adoption of the Craven Local Plan. The next issue is coming soon and will be available to download from this webpage. Alternatively, you can subscribe to an email version via the subscriptions webpage.
