History Wardrobe presents Jane Austen’s guide to being brazen!

Sunday 27 May 2018 2:00 PM

Tickets £16 including tea and cakes

Join us as we commemorate one of England’s finest writers and the 200th anniversary of the publication of her final two novels; Persuasion & Northanger Abbey. History Wardrobe presents Jane Austen’s guide to being brazen!

We’ll be rifling through Jane Austen’s wardrobe revealing spicy details and shocking scandals of women and fashion in the Georgian era - who would have dreamt that Jane Austen’s aunt went to prison and even faced the gallows for the theft of a card of white lace?!

A bold, brash and beautiful celebration of Austen’s wicked women, and a truly revelatory look at clothes & crime in the eighteenth century – an era when stocking-theft or silk smuggling carried serious penalties…
