About Council

Council is the sovereign policy making body and is made up of all 30 Members of the Council.

All powers of the Council are invested initially in the Council Meeting.  The Council is responsible for the constitution and the overall arrangements for the delegation of decision-making to committees and officers.

The Annual Meeting of Council is usually held in late May and four other scheduled meetings are held during each year.  The Budget and Council Tax are set at the Council Meeting held in February.

Due to Covid-19, Council and Committee meetings are currently being held remotely and live streamed on the Council's YouTube page, which you can access here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdfb6ZRbYnZ1-rRliLmjUwg
