Please look out for your email or letter and respond!
Residents for whom we hold an email address will be contacted by email from 13th June 2022. The email sender will be electoral.services.at.craven.district.council@notifications.service.gov.uk and the display name will be "Electoral Services at Craven District Council".
All other households and those not responding to the email will receive a letter in the post in mid July 2022.
Please respond to your form promptly, even if there are no changes to be made.
Please follow the instructions given on the form. Each form has a unique two-part code on it.
If all the details on the form are correct, you can submit the form by either:
- Calling 0800 197 9871 and entering the codes when prompted
- Going online to householdresponse.com/craven and following the instructions
- Texting “NO CHANGE” followed by both codes to 80212
- Returning the form (signed) in the prepaid envelope.
If you need to make changes to the information on your form, you can do this by either:
- Going online to householdresponse.com/craven and following the instructions
- Returning the form (signed) in the prepaid envelope
Please note that anyone that you add to the names already printed on your form will not be registered to vote and will need to register by visiting www.gov.uk/register-to-vote. This is because the household enquiry form is not an electoral registration form.
If they do not register we will write to those individuals separately to remind them to do so.
Please note that you are required by law to respond.
As a local authority we have a statutory duty to maintain a register of electors. The Electoral Registration Officer has a legal duty to maintain this register. This duty is fully explained in the Representation of the People Act 1983 and associated regulations. The legal basis for processing this information falls under the performance of a public task in the public interest or exercising official authority. Therefore any task related to performing this function including sending a Household Canvass and sending the out the letters is carried out on this basis and is compliant with the new Data Protection Legislation (including GDPR).
