Review of Polling Districts, Polling Places and Polling Stations 2018/19

Craven District Council has a duty to review all polling districts and polling places every five years and the last review took place in 2014.

POLLING PLACES/STATIONS

 

Craven District Council has a duty to review all polling districts and polling places every five years and the last review took place in 2014.  Under the Electoral Registration and Administration Act 2013, the compulsory review periods are now:

 

  • The period of 16 months beginning with 1 October 2013, and
  • The period of 16 months beginning with 1 October of every fifth year after that.

 

The Council decides upon the polling districts and polling places, while the Returning Officer, who acts independently of the Council, is responsible for providing the polling stations.
