Waste Operations Supervisor

The Council is looking for a Waste Operations Supervisor to supervise the day to day delivery of the Council's waste collection service. Closing Date: 2nd February 2020

Salary £26,999 - £28,785

37 hours per week

We are located in Skipton, North Yorkshire and with excellent road and rail links to both Leeds and Bradford we are easily accessible.

You will be a key member of the Council's Waste Management team, working holistically and collaboratively with the Waste Operations Manager, Waste Technical Officer, Commercial Waste Officers, Waste Management Officer and Transport Manager.

Job Purpose

Responsible for the supervision, deployment  and organisation of resources on a daily basis and the effective monitoring of the waste collection and street cleaning service.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Supervision and organisation of resources on a daily basis to ensure all waste collections are carried out and street cleaning resources are deployed as scheduled, having responsibility for working practices, health and safety at work and training, for the safe, effective and efficient delivery of service objectives.

Based at our Engine Shed Lane depot in Skipton, the essential requirements of the post include a good standard of education, with evidence of effective literacy and numeracy skills, at least 3 years experience of working in local authority waste management services and 2 years experience of supervision.
