Audit and Governance Committee

The Audit and Governance Committee seeks to improve and maintain the corporate focus on issues arising from risk management, internal control mechanisms, internal and external audit, and financial statements.

The role of the Audit and Governance Committee is to deal with matters relating to internal and external audit activities; the Council's financial statements / accounts; and specified regulatory matters, such as the Constitution, corporate governance and community governance.

The Council's internal audit service is delivered under a shared arrangement with Harrogate Borough Council.

External audit is undertaken by Mazars LLP.
