Christmas activities for everyone at Skipton Town Hall!

Skipton Town Hall has a fantastic Christmas programme of events, performances and activities lined up throughout December.

The fun kicks off with ‘The Fabulous Festive Fifties’ from History Wardrobe on the 3rd of December. Using beautiful displays of original fashions and accessories, History Wardrobe explore a wide range of fascinating topics including history, politics, art and literature. Guests will be served a Snowball cocktail as part of the experience.

On Sunday 5th there will be a Makers Fair held in beautiful and newly restored Concert Hall. The fair coincides with Skipton Christmas Market taking place on the High Street and the Artisan Market at the Canal Basin. Step out of the cold and enjoy Christmas shopping with a variety of local artists and makers producing high quality and contemporary products. There will be entertainment and festive refreshments available. Entry is free.

On Friday 10th of December The World-famous Brighouse & Rastrick Brass Band will be performing a concert that you won’t want to miss! The multi award-winning ensemble will play a mix of traditional Christmas pieces, medleys and carols to get you into the Christmas spirit.

There’s a chance to meet Father Christmas himself on Saturday 11th of December! Children will have the chance to take part in a craft activity with the elves, enjoy mince pies and hot chocolate, listen to a story read by Santa and receive a special gift. There are two sessions throughout the day and booking is essential.

John Bowdler, Blackpool Tower Ballroom resident organist is back on the 14th of December to entertain everyone at the ever-popular Skipton Town Hall Tea Dance. This event is sold out, but tickets are on sale for the 2022 tea dances.

On the 17th of December orchestra in residence, Skipton Camerata, are joined by the talented voices of The Clothworkers Consort of Leeds for a performance of Handel’s ‘Messiah’.

At the start of the school holidays, Saturday 18th of December, there will be a matinee performance of Dickens Christmas classic, ‘A Christmas Carol’. Join Old Scrooge on his journey of enlightenment in this heart-warming new production from Quantum Theatre.

There will be three favourite Christmas films showing during December, all presented with some extra treats! On Sunday 12th of December enjoy ‘White Christmas’ with mulled wine & mince pies. On Wednesday 22nd of December ‘Elf’ will be shown with hot chocolate and a sweet feast. And on Thursday 23rd of December turn up to the Town Hall in your nightwear for the ‘Home Alone’ Pizza and Pyjama Party!

Families can enjoy Christmas Crafts at the Craven Museum Make & Take sessions and there is a new Art Club for young people ages 8 years and over, where you can learn to print your own wrapping paper.

If you are attending an event at the Town Hall, why not call into Craven Museum and Gallery too - open to the public Monday to Saturday, 9am till 4pm and entry is free. The current exhibition showing in the gallery is ‘A Yorkshire Vision’ by Kitty North.
