Put your best foot forward for Craven Leisure’s Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge in aid of a life-saving charity

Craven Leisure staff gearing up to raise money for a great cause

Intrepid staff from Craven Leisure are lacing their walking boots to take on the epic Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge next month for a deserving cause.

Anthony Slater, Fiona Cowgill, Chris Cuthbert, Lucy Summersgill, Clare Megson and Neil Harrison are set to climb the summits of Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough on Saturday, June 25th, to boost funds for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. And they are encouraging members of the public to conquer the hills with them and support this worthwhile charity.

Speaking about the challenge, Anthony Slater, Operations Manager at Craven Leisure, said: “Do you fancy conquering the Yorkshire Three Peaks? If yes, then put your best foot forward and join us on this exciting and fun challenge which will see you ascend 1,700 metres across the day. The Yorkshire Air Ambulance is a fantastic charity that needs to raise £12,000 per day in order to keep the two air ambulances running. This is the first time Craven Leisure staff have participated in the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge with an aim to raise as much money as possible for the air ambulance.”

He added: “We are keen to see as many volunteers as possible from Craven and beyond coming together to walk this team challenge and experience the joy of looking out from each of the three peaks. So, show your support, sign up and have a great day out enjoying the picturesque Yorkshire Dales scenery!”

The 24.5-mile hike, which is set to be completed in less than 12 hours, is open to all members and their family and friends aged over 16. Entry costs just £10, which includes a return coach, a t-shirt and refreshments. Please consider that the terrain in places will be very uneven.  No previous trek experience is necessary – just a sense of adventure and a good pair of boots! And you can enjoy a well-deserved drink at the end of the charity challenge!
