Family Fun Morning at Craven Leisure is a success

Hundreds of children and their families descended on Craven Leisure for a Family Fun Morning to kick off the school summer holidays.

Free taster sporting activities were on offer including basketball and multi-sport taster sessions, and golf and football target practice.

The free bouncy castle slide proved popular as did the children’s mini obstacle course and a balancing activity set up by the Raven Tree Top Adventure team.

Face-painting and craft-making was also available while children also made use of the skate park, pump track and zip wire in Aireville Park.

Revive Café was open and running a barbecue while a number of free tastings were on offer.

Lloyd Hancox, Leisure Services Manager at Craven District Council, said: “We’re delighted so many people came along to this event to try out some of the activities on offer. It was great to see the park full of children and families enjoying themselves.

“We’ve got a number of offers and events at Craven Leisure over the summer holidays so we hope to see many people return.”

Activities taking place at Craven Leisure over the summer holidays include a Family Swim offer for £10 between 9am and 11.30am Monday to Friday, Spike Island inflatable sessions every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 1-2pm and 2-3pm, one-day sports camps run by Coach Gunn every Tuesday and Wednesday, and weekly swimming crash courses.
